Waymarked trails include the Two Castle Trail, Tarka Trail, Granite Way, and the West Devon Way. Local businesses offer bike hire as well as guided tours and tuition to help visitors to make the most of their stay. It is a pretty town with a regular market every Tuesday and Saturday in the Red Lion Yard, a castle that pre-dates the Domesday Book, and footpaths leading through woodland and along the West Okement River. Okehampton is frequently referred to as the Gateway to Dartmoor, as it sits on the northern border of the national park. The one-bedroom cottage sleeps two people. Shops, cafes, pubs and other amenities are all less than two miles away, and easy to reach on foot or by bike if you don't want to drive. It is on a former farm on the outskirts of Okehampton, on a quiet road with no passing traffic. The cottage is ideal for couples, especially those who love spending time outdoors walking, climbing, mountain biking, playing golf, kayaking or one of a myriad of other fun activities.
